About Bright Data

Bright Data, formerly Luminati Networks, is a web-data company founded in 2014 and headquartered in Netanya, Israel. It runs one of the largest proxy networks in the world and sells scraping APIs, browser automation and ready-made datasets on top of it.

For most of the period the search data is flat: a yearly average of about 3 or 4 from 2022 through 2024. The change comes in 2025, when the average rises to around 25 and the series reaches its highest week in August 2025; 2026 to date averages close to 50.

The timing fits the company's repositioning as a supplier of data to AI. Training and grounding AI systems requires large volumes of public web content, collected continuously and at scale, which is precisely what proxy and scraping infrastructure delivers. The company has reported crossing $300 million in annual recurring revenue with growth above 50% a year, and attributes the acceleration to demand from AI developers.

The caveat is that this is a contested business. Large-scale scraping sits close to unresolved questions about site terms, consent and the use of web content for AI training, and the outcome of those questions will shape the category more than any single company's growth curve. The search data measures the commercial pull; it says nothing about how that debate resolves.
